Abilities:
Kairi to start with is a Princess of Heart. What this means is the fact she has a very pure heart, untainted by the world and can't be taken over by the darkness. Mentioned in the first game the Princesses of Heart were used to open a door, but that has been locked by the keyblade since then.

Like Sora and Riku, Kairi also possesses a Keyblade of her very own. She was given the ability when she was a lot younger and was living at Radiant Garden. She got the ability from accidentally touching Aqua's keyblade when unversed attacked, but it wasn't until much later that she actually fought using a keyblade that was given to her. This keyblade is called Destiny's Embrace.

Since the events of Kingdom Hearts II, Kairi has been learning secretly learning to fight better with the keyblade, just in case. But this is usually only for about 1 hour a day, maybe less, so she is only as skilled as she had been before.

The rest of her time was spent going to school, doing any work that was needed when they got it and spending time with her close friends because unlike Sora and Riku who had been gone for a long time, Kairi was still use to the place, as she hadn't been gone for that long. So she didn't have a harder time to quickly get back into the pattern.

Personality:
When Kairi was younger, before ending up at Destiny Island, Kairi appears to be a nice young girl. This kindness can be shown through her action of being thankful to Aqua for helping her, by giving her some flowers she picked before being chased by Unversed. She also is friendly from a young age, as she is shown to be able to talk to people she doesn't know easily, so she doesn't find talking to someone and making friends hard at all.

She also can be quite courageous when the need arises for it, as shown when Axel was trying to take her away at Destiny Island and a portal of darkness opened up behind her, instead of letting herself be willingly or be forced into going with him, she actually went for the other portal with no idea of what could happen, or even where she will end up from the other side of it. Along with this she is one to have noticed Riku for who was when he looked like Xehanort's Heartless, this could show that she knows her best friends well, and could tell who they are no matter what kind of form they could take.

When it comes to her friends, she would do anything for them, even if it just means waiting for them if they said to. Though with this waiting it does make her slightly more distant from others for a while, but when they do return she usually ends up reverting back to her cheerful and happy self.

Since ending up on Destiny Island's Kairi never once questioned where she was from, unlike her friends who wanted to know where she was originally from, but she herself wasn't at all interested enough to find out. She didn't mind the fact she doesn't remember, instead she liked where she was now, with friends she knows. Give her a chance and she is willing to help others, especially her friends. it's true she isn't so much of a fighter since she lacks in experience, but she can hold her own if you give her a weapon to fight with, though she only would do this for a friend if they need her to.

Kairi also has a knack of being able to go head first into trouble if she sees someone she's close to in trouble as well. Like during the second game, Kairi saw Sora in trouble and jumped in to at least try and help, but ended up getting jumped on by Heartless and had to be helped herself. This shows that she can go head first in to trouble without so much thinking about her own safety, or the fact she doesn't really have any weapon to help her.

All in all Kairi is a nice, kind and caring young girl, who loves her friends very much.

Well, I guess I should give my welcome to the new people in Tranverse Town. Hi, my name is Kairi, it's very nice to meet you all.

[The smile stays on her face for a moment before turning away.]

I'll be right there, don't go off without me, okay?

[She looks back at the camera.]

I have to get back to class. Sora, Riku, are you going to be in classes today?

[She stops talking for a moment, thinking.]

It really had been a while since you came back, I was wondering if you still need help on your school work that needs to be done?

[Someone appears to be calling her again as she turns around.]

Alright, I'm coming.

[She picks up the device before switching it off.]

Kairi had gone to the usual place, that island where it all began, where everything changed. She had gone to the island by the usual method of rowing there on her boat, but the view of the calm ocean was something of beauty. Taking her first steps off of the boat she turns her head, looking out toward the direction of the island. She smiled as she made the walk towards the beach, taking a seat as she got there.

It was nice to come out here after school, it was peaceful and quiet and good for just that occasional thinking time that you couldn't get at home or school. Besides, being here brought back fond memories of many things, mainly the good times with friends she had by coming here when they were young.

But things had changed a lot since that day and now they were older and more mature than before.

She started to watch the sun set, a smile passing by her lips as it did. "The sun setting is always nice to watch, but sometimes it's better to watch it with friends." Speaking that, she wondered just where Sora and Riku had gone off to today, she hadn't seen them like she thought she would of by now, but she guessed it had something to do with getting use to being back here, at home.

Standing up once again she stretched, deciding it was a good time to walk around.

"I wonder if I can find them here, maybe they came here to spar like usual." She turned around, her back towards the sunset as she started to make her way, hoping to find either one of her friends around here. She had her alone time, but being with friends was sometimes more enjoyable.
